About Me
Ahlan Wa Salan, Hello, Bonjour and Jambo

Welcome to my travel blog. My name is Hilary, and I am an Irish national who has lived and worked around the globe for over 25 years.

I think it’s fair to say that I have accumulated lots of different travel and life experiences during this time. I have traveled the length and breadth of North Africa, the Levant, and the GCC and continue to do so.

My fascination with travel began when I took up a job working as cabin crew for Gulf Air. My love for and interest in the Arab world has not waned in this time, and that is because the world around me is constantly changing and evolving, and I get to witness these history-making moments.

These days I am in Saudi Arabia, working in Riyadh, and traveling around the country as much as I can.

I started this blog to share some of the experiences I have on these travels with everyone. Believe me, Saudi is going to be the next big thing in tourism.

Saudi Arabia is a vast country with different micro-climates, mountains, lakes, dramatic desert-scapes, miles and miles of un-spoilt pristine beach locations. I hope that if I enjoy them, then perhaps they might be interesting for you too.

As a traveler, I am not a major risk-taker, I do like nice hotels, but I am just as keen to go on a camping trip or stay in a treehouse for a few days.

I am not selling products, but maybe I can help you to build some new travel dreams.
My stories are not exclusively about the Middle East, so search around we may have other destinations in common.
